Description
Make announcements over loud speaker at sporting or other public events. May act as master of ceremonies or disc jockey at weddings, parties, clubs, or other gathering places.
Experience
Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required for these occupations. For example, an electrician must have completed three or four years of apprenticeship or several years of vocational training, and often must have passed a licensing exam, in order to perform the job.
Education
Most occupations in this zone require training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree. Some may require a bachelor's degree.
Training

Tasks
- Announces program and substitutions or other changes to patrons.
- Provides information about event to cue operation of scoreboard or control board.
- Furnishes information concerning play to scoreboard operator.
- Reads prepared script to describe acts or tricks during performance.
- Informs patrons of coming events or emergency calls.
- Speaks extemporaneously to audience on items of interest, such as background and history of event or past record of participants.
- Observes event to provide running commentary of activities, such as play-by-play description or explanation of official decisions.
