Tasks
- Cleans transformer case, using scrapers and solvent.
- Signals crane operator to raise heavy transformer component subassemblies.
- Replaces worn or defective parts, using hand tools.
- Secures input and output wires in position.
- Fills reassembled transformer with oil until coils are submerged.
- Drains and filters transformer oil.
- Dismantles lamination assembly, preparatory to cleaning and inspection.
- Reassembles transformer.
- Inspects transformer for defects, such as cracked weldments.
- Winds replacement coils, using coil-winding machine.
- Disassembles distribution, streetlight, or instrument transformers.
