Arkansas State University - Newport is located approximately 45 miles southeast of Jonesboro and 90 miles northeast of Little Rock. ASUN is near a state park located on the White River with the area offering prime fishing and hunting activities. ASUN sponsors several cultural activities each year bringing in world renoun musical presentations. ASUN offers affordable quality education from short term certificate programs to associate degrees that transfer in completing baccalaureate degrees.


UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Certificates may be obtained in Commercial Driver Training, Diesel Mechanics, High Voltage Lineman, Nursing, and Business. Associate degrees are available in Business, Education, Nursing, General Technology, and Liberal Arts. Students may obtained a Commercial Driver License (CDL) in three weeks. High Voltage Lineman prepares students to work for electric companies. Students may become a practical nurse or a registered nurse. The first two years of most baccalaureate programs may be compelted at ASUN.
