CAMPUS SUMMARY
A Catholic and Lasallain university, Lewis is large enough to offer more than 70 majors, pre-professional programs and master's degrees in seven fields, yet small enough to pledge personalized attention to its students. More than 4,000 students are enrolled with approximately 900 residing on the beautiful 350 acre campus. Founded in 1932, Lewis began as a technical high school for boys, focusing on aeronautical studies, but has grown into a dynamic, coeducational university that offers majors in the humanities, social sciences, aviation, business, criminal/social justice, religious studies, history, psychology, theatre, and more.

Inspired by its Catholic heritage and the teachings of St. John Baptist De La Salle who founded the Christian Brothers, Lewis offers a values-centered curriculum rich in its Mission values of knowledge, fidelity, wisdom, and justice and guided by the spirit of association which fosters community in all teaching, learning, and service. Lewis is located just 35 minutes southwest of Chicago and enjoys the resources of the city. Dozens of activities and organizations are open to students, ranging from the Aviation Flight Team to WLRA Radio, sororities and fraternities to service organizations, honor societies to interest-based clubs. The Lewis Flyers compete in NCAA Division II athletics and the Great Lakes Valley Conference, bringing an added excitement to campus. Lewis students find a community dedicated to supporting their educational and career goals.
