CAMPUS SUMMARY
Marist College's 150-acre campus sits on a scenic stretch of the Hudson River, midway between New York City and Albany, the state capital. The college’s easy access to major cities provides a wide range of internships, as well as fieldwork and independent study opportunities. An arboretum, a planned waterfront park, sports and recreation fields, proximity to ski resorts, campus buses to shopping gallerias, malls, and movie theaters, as well as cultural and artistic events throughout the mid-Hudson Valley make the campus a vibrant setting for social growth and development.

Founded in 1905 by the Marist Brothers, a Catholic teaching order, the college has grown tremendously over the years. Three of the original buildings remain part of the campus today (listed on the National Register of Historic Places), and the college has added several state-of-the-art facilities. Marist is now a private, independent college, but the ideals of commitment to excellence in education, the pursuit of higher human values, and dedication to the principle of service, instilled by the Brothers nearly a century ago, remain a central part of the college’s mission today.

UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Consistently ranked in the top tier of northern colleges by U.S. News & World Report, Time Magazine, Barron's Guide, and a host of other national evaluators, the small classes and strength of the liberal arts curriculum, combined with a focused pre-professional program, provide a small-college environment with university-level access to international study, computer facilities, and a world-class library.

Marist College offers 29 undergraduate degrees, 10 pre-professional programs, and 7 graduate degrees and has been nationally recognized with only a handful of prestigious universities for its use of information technology as a learning and research tool.
