| CAMPUS SUMMARY |
 |
Nationally recognized, coeducational, and nonsectarian, Ithaca College was founded in 1892 as a music conservatory. Today our modern, residential 750-acre campus, outfitted with the most current facilities, is home to our Schools of Business, Communications, Health Sciences and Human Performance, Humanities and Sciences, and Music. We’ve recently added four brand-new buildings to allow our students to study, work, and play in the most state-of-the-art environments possible. Located in central New York’s spectacular Finger Lakes region, above Cayuga Lake in what many consider the classic college town, Ithaca College has a faculty renowned for its passion for teaching and commitment to hands-on learning and an administration actively engaged in both student affairs and community service. Ithaca College hosts hundreds of concerts, recitals, lectures, and theater performances annually; students enjoy more than 140 student clubs, two radio stations and a television station, and 25 highly competitive varsity athletic teams. |

| UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS |
 |
With more than 100 degree programs, from biochemistry to business administration, jazz to journalism, philosophy to physical therapy – and with teacher certification options in 14 fields – students get the curricular choices of a large campus in a smaller school environment. A 12:1 student-faculty ratio means professors get to know students inside and outside the classroom. Your courses will blend the practical with the theoretical, and your adviser will recommend that you sample a variety of disciplines as you complete your degree, in keeping with the liberal arts tradition.
Ithaca College is always seeking new ways to enliven its students’ academic experience: recently added programs such as gerontology and health policy studies reflect the College's emphasis on interdisciplinary studies; other new majors include writing and health sciences. Named a great value in both Barron’s Best Buys in Education and U.S. News and World Report, Ithaca combines a relatively modest cost with generous need- and merit-based financial aid programs. Ithaca College graduates are successful in their fields, with 98 percent of seniors either getting jobs or attending graduate school within a year of graduation. |
