CAMPUS SUMMARY
St. Francis College was established in 1858 by the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn. Today, St. Francis is an independent, co-educational college. The college currently has an enrollment of 2,448 students whose educational objectives range from preprofessional and pregraduate training in the arts, sciences, and business to part-time evening study. The St. Francis College campus consists of five interconnected buildings. Facilities include the McGarry Library, which houses approximately 175,000 volumes, nearly 800 periodicals, and audio visual materials; the McArdle Student Center, which includes a cafeteria, two lounges, and a game room; fully equipped science and computer labs; state-of-the-art television production studio; and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. St. Francis College is located in Brooklyn Heights, a national historic district and one of New York City’s most desirable neighborhoods in which to live. A prestigious brownstone community, Brooklyn Heights also serves as an ideal urban campus.

UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
St. Francis College offers both traditional as well as nontraditional undergraduate degree programs primarily to residents of the metropolitan New York area. These students, while pursuing their separate majors either in arts, sciences, or occupational/preprofessional studies, are unified by their common exposure to the humanistic values of liberal education signified in particular by a liberal arts core curriculum required of all degree recipients in addition to courses in the major field of study.

The college grants the AA, AS, AAS, BA, and BS degrees in a wide variety of majors. Affiliation agreements with the Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens, SUNY Downstate Medical Center, New York University Dental School, and The New College of Podiatric Medicine enable students to pursue degrees in Physician Assistant, Radiologic Science, Physical and Occupational Therapy, and to acquire advanced standing in professional programs in dentistry and podiatry before the completion of the baccalaureate degree.
