CAMPUS SUMMARY
Although the University at Buffalo was founded more than 150 years ago, it is as new as any university in the country. Recent additions to UB's two campuses include a world-class fine arts center, football stadium, medical and chemistry research buildings, and -- in response to changing student needs -- on-campus apartment-style housing. UB has high-tech teaching and learning facilities -- and a new supercomputer that makes us one of the top 10 schools in the nation that have one. Yahoo Internet Life magazine recently ranked UB as "One of the Most Wired Colleges in the U.S." In fact, UB is in the top 25. UB is located in scenic Western New York. Buffalo is a city rich in cultural diversity, great ethnic restaurants, a hot music scene, professional sports, a theater district, and it's minutes from Canada.

UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
The University at Buffalo -- UB -- is a full spectrum, university center where undergraduate education is enriched and intensified by its close association with graduate programs and cutting-edge research. One of UB's defining features is its variety of academic opportunities: more than 100 bachelor's degree programs, 60 undergraduate minors, and more than 200 graduate and professional degree programs. UB has a college of arts and sciences and twelve professional schools, three of which offer programs unique to the State University system (Architecture, Law, and Pharmacy). UB is the only public institution in New York and New England to have been elected to the 62-member Association of American Universities.
