CAMPUS SUMMARY
SUNY Farmingdale is Long Island's oldest public college, founded in 1912. We are also Long Island's newest four-year college, as we began offering bachelor degrees in 1985. We are located in the heart of Long Island, not far from NYC and minutes away from Jones Beach. We offer both associate and bachelor degrees with an emphasis on technical programs leading to successful employment upon graduation. There are over 5,000 students enrolled in over 30 different programs offered through the four schools of Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering Technologies, and Health and Human Services.
Over 75,000 people have graduated from SUNY Farmingdale. Graduates are employed as nurses, pilots, electrical technicians, police officers, computer and systems developers, graphic artists, applied mathematicians, technology managers, and horticulturalists.

UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
We are the only public college to offer a BS in aviation. Gardens and greenhouses provide a living laboratory for horticulture students. New Media Design, our in-house agency, gives art students real world experience working on advertising campaigns. Through the Center for Applied Math, students analyze real-world problems and contribute to solutions. The Dental Care Center offers an important service to the community and hands-on experience. Many programs also require senior projects that involve practical applications for classroom knowledge.
