CAMPUS SUMMARY
For over 125 years, students have been attracted to Geneseo for its traditional college environment. The public college, an integral part of a small college town, is located in one of the most beautiful regions of Western New York State with Letchworth State Park and Conesus Lake nearby. The village of Geneseo is one of only nine communities in the nation to be included on the National Register of Preservation Districts. From the county courthouse to the bear fountain and Victorian homes a walk down Main Street is, in many ways, a step back in time. The college’s brick sidewalks, shady oaks and ivy-covered buildings add to the idyllic atmosphere. Students come to Geneseo with a serious purpose. They are talented, energetic and involved. It is largely for this reason that Geneseo has emerged as “one of the nation’s most selective, highly regarded public colleges” (The New York Times).
