CAMPUS SUMMARY
SUNY Maritime College, established in 1874, is the United States' first and foremost Maritime College. Our 56-acre, waterfront campus is located in suburban New York City where the East River meets Long Island Sound just minutes from Manhattan, the cultural and entertainment capital of the world.


UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
SUNY Maritime College offers degree programs in the following: Engineering (ABET Accredited), Naval Architecture (ABET Accredited), Marine Environmental Science (oceanography & meteorology), Business Administration/Marine Transportation, International Transportation and Trade, Humanities, Marine Technology/Small Vessel Operations, and International Transportation Management. SUNYMC students pursue a degree program listed above and have the option to pursue an unlimited US Merchant Marine Officer's License. Students pursuing license are part of our regiment of cadets, take courses specific to preparing for the Merchant Marine Officer's License Exam, and travel to various international and domestic ports aboard the training ship Empire State VI.
