CAMPUS SUMMARY
Nestled in the heart of the Adirondack Olympic Region of northern New York State, North Country "College of Essex & Franklin", has something for everyone… abundant recreational opportunities, a sincere and caring staff and a chance to be part of a vital, international community. Located just 7 miles from the U.S. Olympic Training facilities of Lake Placid. In 1980 North Country was selected to be the "Official College of the Winter Olympics".

North Country "College of Essex & Franklin" is committed to providing, within Essex and Franklin counties, an innovative, challenging, supportive environment where the intellectual, career, personal and creative aspirations of all interested individuals can be realized. The college promotes a desire for excellence, a concern for lifelong learning and an ability to adapt to a changing society.

For the second consecutive year, North Country has been the fastest growing 2-year college in the State University of New York.

UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Although one of the smallest unit of the 64-unit SUNY system, North Country "College of Essex & Franklin" has degree and certificate programs for all interests. Whether you plan to enter a career immediately after your studies at North Country, or plan to transfer to a college university for a bachelor’s degree, North Country has courses and programs for you. Everything from the highly specialized health-field degrees in radiologic technology, massage therapy and nursing to liberal arts studies in math, science or the humanities to wilderness recreation leadership – all share the common benefits of caring instructors, small class and individual attention.

In fall 1999, North Country admitted its first class to the Massage Therapy program. One of the few institutions to offer this program in New York State and the only institution in Northern New York, we offer an associate degree that will prepare the massage therapist to meet the classroom instruction requirement, as well as pass the written examination for licensing in New York State.

Recently NCCC entered into Joint Admissions agreements with SUNY Potsdam and SUNY Plattsburgh. North Country is the only two-year college that can guarantee your admission to these leading 4-year colleges.
