CAMPUS SUMMARY
SUNY Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome has the best of both worlds: the intimacy, personalized instruction and hands-on access to state-of-the-art equipment of a small college, and the many advantages of belonging to the world's largest public system of higher education-the State University of New York. In an increasingly complex world of technological advancement, SUNY Utica/Rome is an acknowledged leader in the realm of technical communication and access to the World Wide Web: the Institute of Technology is one of "Yahoo! Internet Life" magazine's "100 Most Wired Campuses," boasting a higher rating such institutions as Syracuse, Georgetown, Clemson and Baylor.
In addition to its technological excellence, SUNY Utica/Rome's broad curriculum also emphasizes the humanities, communications, math and science. Historically an all-transfer and graduate institution, SUNY Utica/Rome will begin admission of freshmen in select degree programs in fall 2003.
Located on a beautifully-landscaped 800-acre campus, all buildings are contemporary in design. Construction of a $14 million library complex is underway, with completion scheduled for fall 2002.
Activities abound on campus, with student government, special interest clubs, academic organizations, and performing arts groups.
