CAMPUS SUMMARY
Manchester College traces its origin to the Roanoke Classical Seminary found by the United Brethren Church in Roanoke, Ind., in 1860. The seminary became Manchester College when, in 1889, it was moved to North Manchester, Ind.

Manchester College is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Manchester College is an independent, co-educational college in the liberal arts tradition. It is committed to being a community of faith and learning.

The College welcomes students of diverse interests and ages, as well as those of different ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds. The educational program combines liberal education, career preparation, and education for service, while fostering a desire to improve the quality of life. Manchester College seeks to graduate people who possess ability and conviction and who understand truth as it is perceived from scientific, moral, philosophical and historical perspectives.

Within a long tradition of concern for peace and justice, Manchester College intends to develop an international consciousness, a respect for ethnic and cultural pluralism, and an appreciation for the infinite worth of every person.

UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Manchester College offers over 45 areas of study. All are very strong. For example, the Art Department is not a large program, however, art professor James Adams is the Professor of the Year for the year 2002 for all Baccalaureate Schools in the U.S - not for art, but as a complete professor and what he offers to higher education.

The Accounting program was recently ranked third in the country in performance (percent passing) on the CPA Examination given in May and November 2001 (in 2001 Manchester students had the number 1,2,3,4,6 and 7 top scores in Indiana), according to the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). The graduating accounting students pass the CPA exam at twice the national average and had the the number 2,4,6, and 8 top scores in the state of Indiana for the year of 2002.

Manchester's pre-law students have an acceptance rate of 90 percent into law school in the past 10 years and 100 percent in the last four years.

Our pre-med students have an 80 percent acceptance rate into medical schools such as Indiana University School of Medicine, The Ohio State University, University of Chicago, University of Michigan, and Harvard University School of Medicine.

The education students, both secondary and elementary, pass the state certification licensing exam at rates above the Indiana state averages.
