CAMPUS SUMMARY

As a first-year student, you may choose from among 20 Penn State campuses to start your education. Many students (about 60 percent) spend their first two years at one campus, then move to another location to finish their degrees. Where you finish depends on your major and the type of campus you prefer.



UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Adult Student Award:



Recognizes a student over the age of 21 who has completed at least 36 credits and who is distinguished by scholarship, service, and success
in coping with numerous roles and overcoming difficult circumstances in the pursuit of education.



The Eric A. and Josephine Walker Award:



Recognizes Commonwealth College students whose outstanding qualities of character, scholarship, leadership, and citizenship have been directed into programs and services that have positively
influenced fellow students and have contributed to the prestige and well-being of their campus and, hence, to the reputation of the University as a whole.



Academic Awards:



Dean’s List-Recognition: is made of full-time students who earn a 3.50 grade-point average each semester.



Campus Part-time Honors List Recognition: is made of part-time students who complete at least six credits in both the fall and spring terms and achieve a 3.75 grade-point average.


Activities:



Awards Banquet: held in the spring, recognizes members of clubs, winners of competitive activities, and recipients of service awards.



Honors Program: The Campus Honors Program was established to encourage and reward academic excellence. The Honors Program provides opportunities for in-depth academic pursuits through honors courses and independent research. The Honors Program also incorporates a variety of cultural experiences to contribute to the student’s educational endeavor. Students qualify for the Honors Program by SAT scores and grade point averages.
