CAMPUS SUMMARY
Salt Lake Community College is a fully accredited, student-focused urban multi-campus college serving the diverse needs of the Salt Lake City community. With an open-door enrollment policy, the College serves more than 60,000 students through credit and non-credit courses and workshops each year, making it the largest institution of higher education in Utah. To accommodate student needs, SLCC has three full-service campuses, eight teaching centers located throughout the Salt Lake Valley and an eCampus for distance learning. Courses are offered in both traditional and accelerated semesters, during the day, at night and on weekends. Even in the face of dramatically increasing student enrollments, the College has preserved its personal feel by maintaining a student to faculty ratio of just to 19 to 1.

Once considered strictly a VoTech school, Salt Lake Community College has grown into a vibrant and progressive college offering 112 programs in a wide variety of professional fields. Degrees include associate of arts, associate of science and associate of applied science, with bachelor’s degrees available through University Center partnerships with many of Utah’s four-year institutions. Diplomas and certificates are also awarded for non-degree programs.

In addition to programs in the sciences and technology, humanities, business and industry, the College includes: the Applied Technology Center, the Center for International Studies, the Thane Community Center, the Center for Human Services Training, the Miller Entrepreneurship Training Center, the Institute of Public Safety, plus a workshops and conferences department, a Skills Center for short-term vocational training, a Learning Center where students receive tutoring in 35 subjects, a Community Writing Center providing free one-on-one writing assistance to all Salt Lake area adults, and an active International Studies department providing students with semester abroad opportunities. The College Disability Resource Center provides students numerous services including advising and counseling, early registration for classes, assistive technology, special testing arrangements, tutoring, reading, interpreting for the deaf and note taking. The College Apprenticeship program combines on-the-job training and classroom instruction for a variety of careers, including electricians, chefs, machinists, and stagehands.
