ABOUT THE PROGRAM
According to the National Joint Committee on Learning Disabilities, "learning disabilities" is a "general term that refers to a heterogeneous group of disorders manifested by significant difficulties in the acquisition and use of listening, speaking, reading, writing, reasoning, or mathematical abilities." A learning disability is presumably due to central nervous system dysfunction, and is not primarily due to other handicapping conditions, environmental, or cultural influences. It is not a form of mental retardation, or an emotional disorder.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS FOR LD STUDENTS
Admission requirements for LD students are the same as those for other students: yes
Requirements that may be waived for LD students: Students with learning disabilities may apply under the regular admissions process but are also encouraged to apply via the Diverse Qualifications route, which allows applicants to provide the admissions committee with a detailed explanation of their academic history and the impact of their disability on their academic accomplishments. Some admissions requirements may be waived.
