| UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS |
 |
Point Loma Nazarene University offers a large selection of semester abroad programs and over-seas ministry opportunities. Over half of the student body is involved in one of the 30 different, student run, campus ministries. Ministries at PLNU range from working in Mexican orphanages to feeding San Diego homeless to tutoring disadvantaged students around the county. Integrated semester for freshmen offers students a chance feel connected to the Point Loma community right from the very start by being a valued part of a close knit learning community composed of peers and faculty mentors, developing skills that will help you communicate, think and retain information effectively, discussing "real-life" issues impacting your lives and our society, and experiencing learning as it was meant to be experienced. Point Loma’s Pre-med program has over an 80% success rate at getting students into medical school. Point Loma's Forensics team is the only team in the nation to finish the year in the top five ranked schools nationally every year over the past six years. |
