| CAMPUS SUMMARY |
 |
Hofstra University is a coeducational, nonsectarian university founded in 1935. Conveniently located just 25 miles east of New York City, Hofstra’s beautiful suburban campus is in easy reach of all that the world’s greatest city has to offer. Students get the best of two worlds at Hofstra – the quality and resources of a world-class university and all of the comfort and security of a small-college community.
Hofstra’s 240-acre campus is a registered arboretum, with more than 400 types of trees and numerous outdoor and indoor sculptures, as well as 23 acres of playing fields for our NCAA Division I sports teams. Immediately surrounding Hofstra are numerous opportunities for recreation. With the Atlantic Ocean to the south and Long Island Sound to the north, campus is a quick drive from endless beaches. Roosevelt Field, the premiere mall on Long Island, is right down the road and Nassau Coliseum is literally next door to Hofstra with NHL New York Islanders games and concerts to help keep students busy! |
