CAMPUS SUMMARY
Mansfield University traces its heritage back to 1857, when Mansfield Classical Seminary opened. In 1862, Mansfield became a state normal school. In 1927, it became Mansfield State Teachers College, and in 1960, it broadened its degree offerings and became Mansfield State College. In 1983, it became Mansfield University. Mansfield University students enjoy a private school environment at a public school price. A small university in the scenic mountains of northcentral Pennsylvania, Mansfield prepares students seeking their first employment or graduate school. Mansfield offers more than 70 quality programs of study in the liberal arts tradition. A new technologically advanced library opened in 1996, a new recreation center opened in 1997, and the newly renovated student union opened in 2000.

A four year, coeducational , fully accredited institution, Mansfield University offers more than seventy undergraduate degree programs and six graduate degree programs. Classes are small, and the learning experience is personalized.
