CAMPUS SUMMARY
Work and service are an important part of each student’s daily life.

The central mission of Warren Wilson College is to provide an educational triad of liberal arts study, work, and service, in a setting that promotes wisdom and understanding, spiritual growth, and contribution to the common good.

The general education program helps students develop valuable skills, explore topics related to the distinctive mission of the College, and engage in broad study of the liberal arts.

UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
What kind of college has no football, no fraternities or sororities, and believes that one person can change the world? Warren Wilson College believes it, and provides students with the education to do so. Located in Asheville, North Carolina, Warren Wilson is different in significant ways.

The academics are challenging, with a liberal arts curriculum featuring 21 majors. With a student/faculty ratio of 12:1, the academic experience is personal and participatory. In addition, all students work 15 hours each week on one of over 100 work crews. Each student is also involved in community service, because we believe that service to others is, like a love of reading, a learned behavior.

The direct experience gained in the work and service programs provide an important balance to the classroom learning. This balanced education program is a primary reason that Warren Wilson has been included in U.S. News & World Report’s top 25 percent (tier #1) of all Southern Liberal Arts Colleges and The Princeton Review’s Best 311 Colleges in America. Mother Jones ranked Warren Wilson as one of the top activist campuses in the country for the past 20 years. Barron’s Best Buys in College Education noted the high-quality education for the amount of tuition charged. Making a Difference College Guide said WWC was a school where students get a holistic education of academics, work and service.
